{"id":603,"date":"2012-09-17T19:04:18","date_gmt":"2012-09-18T05:04:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ahualoa.net\/farmblog\/?p=603"},"modified":"2016-11-01T07:19:23","modified_gmt":"2016-11-01T17:19:23","slug":"farm-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ahualoa.net\/farmblog\/2012\/09\/farm-visit\/","title":{"rendered":"Farm visit: pictures, lots of work done, rotary sifters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tons of work got done during the 3 weeks there, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Took down and partly processed 6 very large cypress trees above the tea field<\/li>\n<li>Started new long-term compost pile<\/li>\n<li>Planted several dozen new tea plants, mostly Y\/Y cultivars<\/li>\n<li>Lots of wood moving and splitting<\/li>\n<li>Re-built the char pit with real firebrick, which should last forever<\/li>\n<li>Several burns of the char pit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Lots of thinking about how to make the process easier, mostly in the sifting-crushing-sorting. \u00a0Right now i am thinking about building a low-tech\u00a0Rotary Sifter, something <a href=\"http:\/\/wellheeledhills.wordpress.com\/2011\/03\/23\/rotary-sifter\/\">like this<\/a>.
